animated optical illusions

while there was little to the actual article other than the videos, those videos contain all you need to know. Apparently by using a film with transparent lines in it, when placed over an image of a certain type then moved from left to right or vice fer-ca it only lets through a single frame of an animation. There tends to be a total of 6 frames for each animation, but what i think is cool is that even if the images look blurred when viewed with out the film, when you have it on your mind completes the frame so you see a full image that isn’t truly there.

I had no idea we had figured out to do this with paper, or even at all! This, to me, was truly amazing and now i want to do a bunch more research on the subject of animated optical illusions.
